In simple terms it is a mixture of Cardio (running, rowing, biking etc) Weightlifting & Gymnastics.

CrossFit is based on functional movements that are or can be used in everyday life such as the air squat and Deadlift. You sit down and stand up which reflects in the way of an air squat. You bend down and pick something up from the floor and then stand back up this is a dead lift.
